GUIDELINES SUBMISSIONS: We are looking for original works of fiction and non-fiction no longer than 8,000 words. Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but please be considerate and alert us if your work has been accepted elsewhere (in print or online). Please do not submit more than one piece at a time for consideration and all works must be previously unpublished (in print or online). HOW TO SUBMIT: Please send submissions via e-mail (as attachments) or snail mail. No cover letter is necessary, but please be sure full contact information is included (name, address, telephone, and email). Don't worry if little or none of your work has been published. We choose what we like regardless of author history. EMAIL: In the subject heading, please write your full name, followed
by the title of your work, and whether your piece is fiction or non-fiction.
Example: Subject: Joe Schmo, Lunar Eclipse On A Friday, Fiction. Your
attachments must be formatted as a .doc, .rtf, or .pdf file in 12-point
Times New Roman font, double-spaced with 1-inch margins all around. We
will not accept work included in the body of the e-mail. Also, please
don't send revisions after submitting your work. Once you click send,
that's the version we'll read. SNAIL MAIL: On the outside of your envelope please write whether your piece is fiction or nonfiction. Your work must be formatted in 12-point Times New Roman font, double-spaced with 1-inch margins all around. Snail mail submissions must be accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE). IF SELECTED: You will be notified of acceptance via e-mail or telephone. We can pay you in praise and candy, but not in dollar bills just yet. Please note that we do not respond to inquiries about the status of submissions. A NOTE ON EDITING: Please spell-check and proof your work. COLLECTANEA will copyedit for spelling, grammar, and minor phrasing adjustments. We also might give you feedback on your work, should we feel it appropriate. LEGAL: COLLECTANEA acquires first-time rights and electronic rights (including audio) for all works published, with an option for second serial rights in print. Works of fiction, nonfiction, and documentary pieces will be accepted. *Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but please be considerate and alert us if your work has been accepted elsewhere. HOW TO SUBMIT: Please send submissions via e-mail as attachments. Your work must be formatted into the MP3 format and be no longer than 8 minutes in length. No cover letter is necessary, but please be sure full contact information is included (name, address, telephone, email) and whether the piece has been aired or published before. This information will in no way disqualify you from acceptance. Also, please feel free to send along a 'host intro' or any accompanying background information as supplemental material for your entry. Don’t worry if little or none of your work has been published. We choose what we like regardless of author history.
